Classes here are really ramping up, and I have been floored by the level of intensity of some of my geology classes. Well, one in particular. Igenous Petrology is literally the hardest class I've taken in college, because we have covered so much material and have very open-ended labs and quizzes that require a lot of independent, dynamic (and therefore difficult) thinking.
That being said, it's also really cool, and how hard it is makes me appreciate it all the more, especially when I understand something!

These next two weeks will be crazy busy with assignments, and I am getting worked up just thinking about it. Maybe it is therefore also a good time to practice staying in the moment and not getting overwhelmed...and trying to avoid complaining. And looking up inspirational quotes like the one below:

Things here are okay. Right now I am sitting inside St. David's Cafe, looking at the darkening sky which threatens rain, trying to motivate myself to go for a run. I might watch an episode of Gravity Falls instead and pretend like the world doesn't exist for the afternoon. Today might not have been much by my standards, but if Maya Angelou is right, then the important thing is not sounding cool or looking good or even having it all together, but just staying positive and out of the mind-clutter, so I can actually be a functional person, not crippled by self-guilt, stress, and negativity!
Luckily, life moves me even when I don't feel like I can move myself.
